Legal Operations Business Analyst – 6 Month FTC
London – Hybrid (c. 2–3 days in the office)
Salary: up to £63,900 per annum (pro rata) + excellent benefits

We’re partnering with a highly regarded international law firm in London who are looking for a Legal Operations Business Analyst to join their Legal Operations team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain high-quality experience in a complex, fast-paced partnership environment, working closely with senior stakeholders and Legal Ops Business Partners.
You’ll sit within a collaborative Legal Operations team that helps partners and senior leaders make smarter, data-led decisions. The work is varied, commercial and genuinely influential.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Working with business stakeholders and Legal Ops Business Partners to understand issues, challenges and opportunities
Gathering, structuring and validating data from multiple sources to support key projects
Producing actionable insights through detailed data analysis and modelling (primarily using Excel and Power BI)
Presenting findings and recommendations to a broad stakeholder group, including senior leadership
Interpreting trends across different data sets to support strategic decision-making and performance reporting
Providing best-practice advice, technical support and informal training to colleagues on data tools and reporting
Supporting project management activity – helping to scope work, track progress and deliver against clearly defined briefs
Contributing to continuous improvement of processes, reporting and how the firm uses data across Legal Operations
You’ll gain broad exposure across the firm, touching on financial performance, operational efficiency, client behaviours and more.
We’re keen to speak to candidates who can demonstrate:
Proven Business Analysis experience in a commercial, professional services or legal environment
Strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity about data – comfortable working with large, sometimes complex data sets
Excellent Excel skills and experience with data visualisation tools (ideally Power BI)
The ability to translate business questions into clear analysis and tangible outputs
Strong communication skills – confident presenting findings and influencing stakeholders at different levels
A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and pragmatically
Experience of project management and/or process mapping (e.g. Visio) would be a distinct advantage
A background in legal or partnership-based environments is highly desirable, but strong BA experience in another professional services setting will also be considered.
