Head of Finance Operations & Procurement

Be-Resourcing is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Head of Finance Operations & Procurement to join our Financial Services client based in Edinburgh. This strategic role encompasses overseeing and managing a comprehensive range of operational finance activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll execution, and sourcing of third-party vendors. You will lead a highly skilled team of approximately 20 FTE across various UK locations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and driving operational excellence. Your contributions will significantly impact the company's strategic objectives by optimising vendor relationships and enhancing internal financial processes.

The Head of Finance Operations and Procurement will interact with subsidiary company management, boards, and governance bodies, coordinating closely with Treasury, Capital Management, and the Group Company Secretary. 

The individual holding this role has been designated as a Certified Person for the purposes of the FCA’s Certification Regime.

Key Accountabilities:

• Oversee accounts receivable and billing processes, ensuring timely collections and effective stakeholder relationship management.
• Lead accounts payable processes and procurement controls while ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
• Manage payroll execution, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory standards.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring adherence to FCA and PRA regulations.
• Maintain integrity within finance systems and ensure effective month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Drive vendor relationship management and sourcing strategies for cost-effective procurement.
• Lead and develop a high-performing multi-location team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Liaise with senior stakeholders to align operational finance activities with strategic objectives.

Be-Resourcing is recruiting an ambitious and forward-thinking Audit Analyst/Advisor to join our client, one of Scotland's leading Chartered Accountant and Business Advisory firms, in their Glasgow office (on a hybrid basis). This role would see the successful candidate join a growing and evolving Audit department which currently assists a wide range of clients across a range of industries.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the senior management team to deliver audit and accounting services;
• Responsible for the planning implementation and completion of a variety of audit clients and will be required to support other members of the audit team;
• Visiting client sites to oversee the Audit including supporting junior team members and being responsible for complex file areas;
• Communicate effectively with both junior members of the team and management, ensuring management receive appropriate information relevant to the audit;
• Plan and complete audit assignments and ensure that all audits have the appropriate and sufficient documentation to support the opinion and to document all conclusions reached;
• Preparation of statutory financial statements from client data;
• Assist with the development of more junior members within the team and ensure workload on audit is evenly distributed where appropriate to junior members of the team;
• Manage and develop client relationships;
• Complete all administration in a timely manner (including timesheets and fees) and to a high standard;
• Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements.

 

Skills required: 

• A professional accountancy qualification – ACCA/ICAS or equivalent;
• Newly qualified or part qualified considered;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Excellent attention to detail;
• The ability to build strong relationships;
• Experience of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, MS Outlook);
• Experience in Xero/Sage/Quickbooks is desirable;
• Experience using CCH also desirable.
